Ministry of Human Resource is organizing Kala Utsav-2017-18 kala art programe under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing andd showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country.
Rashtriya Madhyamik Skiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) recoginiess the importance of the aesthetics and artistic experiences for secondary-level students, which play amojor role in creating awareness of Indaia`s rich cultural geritage and its Vibrant diversity.
Theme of Kala Utsav-2017
Theme of Kala Utsav 2017 is “EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” (Living Tradition of Arts-Tribal, Folk and Traditional Art Forms)
- Visual Arts such as Drawing, Painting, Sculpture & Crafts etc.
- Online Art Projects (History, Documenting the facts, Documenting the process of practicing living traditions)
The students of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes from any government, government-aided schools and private schools can participates in this Kala Utsav 2017.
Levels of Kala Utsav 2017
The selecting best teams will perform at three different levels
The first level of Kala Utsav programe at District level where all schools can send their entries. In second level of kala Utsav at State/UT level. The district level participates will participate at this level. The third level of Kala Utsav at National level this is the final level of Kala Utsav where the best of the entries from state/UTs/KVS/NVS will showcase their talent.

Awards at National Level Kala Utsav
There are three awards in each discipline in Kala Utsav
1st Prize : Rs.500000/- (Rs.125000 for each art form)
2nd Prize : Rs.300000/- (Rs.75,000 for each art form)
3rd Prize : Rs.200000/- (Rs.50000 for each art form)
